Online nitrogen calculator

Syngenta Seeds works continually to provide new tools and information which will benefit UK farmers.

As part of a Syngenta Seeds nitrogen use project we have designed an online nitrogen calculator to enable growers to fine-tune their application rates.  The calculator has been developed using the original ADAS calculations of 175 kg N/ha for a crop with a GAI (Green Area Index) of 3.5 at mid-flowering aiming for a 3.5 t/ha crop. 

By inputting a crop’s GAI and mineral soil nitrogen levels the calculator will determine how much additional nitrogen is required. It will provide nitrogen application recommendations based on the latest effective date by which it should be applied and, if needed, will also split applications, expanding the original ADAS model.
